Stack Attack: The playing field consisted of a rectangular platform in the middle accessed from each side by ramps. A stack of plastic bins were arranged in a pyramid shape across the center of the platform. At the start of each match, each team's human player has 10 seconds to freely place or stack eight additional containers. After those 10 seconds, the robots will be allowed 15 seconds to function autonomously, without driver control of any kind. After the “Autonomous Period”, the robots will be under complete control of their drivers for the remaining 1 minute and 45 seconds of the match.

The object of the game is to collect and stack containers on your team’s side of the field. Each container in the scoring zone on your side of the field counts as one point. The final score is the result of multiplying the number of containers in the highest stack by the total number of containers in your alliance’s scoring zone. An additional 25 points is awarded for each alliance robot that is positioned on the top of the ramp platform.

This year's competition brought a unique challenge to the game: 15 seconds of autonomous robot control at the beginning of the match. Wildstang knew this would be a dominating factor in the game and designed their robot with that in mind. A gyroscope in combination with a wheel encoder and custom circuit (and some trigonometry) helps us calculate our position on the field and orientation. The robot utilizes four wheel crab drive to enable quick movement and direction change. Finally, the addition of wings enables Wildstang to knock down bins, protect stacks, and dominate the ramp at the end of the match.
