First Frenzy: Raising the Bar: The field is a rectangular carpeted area, with a central structure that provides an upper deck which supports a steel bar that is 12 feet above the carpeted area. At each end of the central structure is a platform that provides a lower deck which contains a tall fixed goal. On each side of the central structure is a shorter moveable goal. Each alliance one stationary and one movable goal designated by the alliance's color. On each end of the field there is a Ball Delivery System holding 18 rubber balls. The player station walls at each end of the field provide openings for the robots to pass balls through to the human players. At the center of each side of the field are ball release mechanisms for each alliance.

This year's competition consists of four robots on the playing field for each match. The robots are divided into two alliances of two robots each. The object of the game is for the teams’ robots to trigger the Ball Release during the first 15 seconds, then collect balls from the playing field and feed them to the Human Players who will throw them into the goals. Robots will try to cap the goals with large balls to double the point value contained in that goal and attempt to end the match hanging from the center Pull-Up Bar. The final score is the result of adding small ball points in the goals, doubling the points for goals that are capped, and adding 50 points for any robot that is hanging from the bar.

WildStang knew the key to this game was controlling the 2X doubler balls. Designing the robot with this in mind, it had two arms so it could hold 2 of the 2X balls simultaneously. The small arm would easily retrieve the 2X ball from the mobile goal during autonomous, and the big arm could use its accumulator to pick up a 2X ball and cap the stationary goal. 2 carriages housed the drive wheels which could raise and retract to aid in climbing the platform. The robot also had a released hook to help hang from the bar for extra points at the end of the match.
