Robot Events
Triple Play: This year's game consists of two three-team alliances competing against each other in each match. The object of the game is to attain a higher score than your opponent alliance by placing tetras on or into goals, getting three goals in a row capped with tetras, and/or having all three robots on an alliance in their end zone at the end of the match.

The match begins with a 15-second autonomous period, during which the robots move without any interaction from the drivers. If a robot is able to cap a goal with a vision tetra, which is a special tetra with a colored green band, during the autonomous period, bonus tetras are automatically placed on top of a goal at the start of the match. 2 bonus tetras are scored for capping the center goal, and 1 bonus tetra for either of the center side goals. Robots may also release a possible 2 hanging tetras in their starting zone during this time. After the autonomous period has ended, robots score points by capping goals with tetras throughout the 2 minute match. Tetras may be retrieved from either a human player loader station or from an automatic loader station during the match. A goal is considered 'owned' by an alliance if its tetra is the top-most tetra in the stack on top of the goal, or if there is no stack on top, the top-most tetra in a stack inside the goal. Stacked tetras are worth 3 points each and tetras inside goals are worth 1 point each. At the end of the match, an alliance can be awarded 10 bonus points for each row owned (3 goals in a row, tic-tac-toe style) or having all 3 robots back to their starting zone.

How high can it go?!? WildStang wanted to be able to load tetras onto a high stack and control the end game of tic-tac-toe. So we used a unique lift system with a track-slide to get the height we needed. In addition, two foldable 'wings' gave us added stability when our lift was extended. Two spears were attached to one side of the lift to enable quick and automated grabbing of tetras from the autoloaders. In the end, WildStang proved to be a worthy opponent as we walked away with a Midwest Regional win!
