We\u2019re getting closer to the Midwest Regional Qualifier Competition and WildStang Robotics Program has been getting ready! We had our operator tryouts and both drive teams have been finalized for the season. Read more about what else we\u2019ve been up to.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The 111 mechanical subteam replaced the side roller bearing on the robot’s carriage with the \u2018drylin igus\u2019 sliders. These mechanically lock the robot\u2019s carriage to the moving stage of the open-top lift. The sliders can handle 157 lbs of static loading in all directions and there will be two on each side of the carriage. The 111 robot is almost complete!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The 112 mechanical subteam has made significant progress this past week. The 112 robot has complete high-scoring capabilities. One interesting fact about the 112 robot is that the working pressure is at 40 psi instead of the maximum 60, this is to ensure the robot does not grip the cubes too hard. The 112 robot is also almost complete!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

WildStang\u2019s electrical subteam has been redoing and cleaning things up. They rewired the umbilical in the arm and reorganized the wiring in the carriage again. They\u2019ve also started reconstruction on the charging station.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Plus One\u2019s electrical subteam is almost finished but the regulator needs to be moved so it doesn\u2019t hit anything. The wiring of the arm will be changed in the upcoming week so the wires don’t stick out as much. Also, the subteam plans to put a cable protector on the arm and zip-tie the wires to secure them.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

WildStang\u2019s software subteam has been finishing some things up. They\u2019ve continued working on auto path LimeLight and have been making good progress. They\u2019ve also started testing Autoline on cubes; actual testing has started and more improvements will be made in the upcoming weeks.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Plus One\u2019s software subteam was hard at work last week. They reviewed past code on the robot and started putting more code onto the robot. Now, they\u2019re beginning to test the new code and starting auto paths.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

WildStang and Plus One\u2019s joint strategy subteam has been busy preparing for the competition. They\u2019ve been observing Week 0 playoffs and scouting those. They\u2019re also on the lookout for other teams\u2019 robot reveals to see what other robots look like. They started to scout using our WildRank app to check for accuracy and are looking at potential alliance partners based on the teams attending MidWest.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

WildStang Robotics Program communication subteam wrote and published the Week 5 blog post. View it here<\/a>. They took pictures and filmed the progress WildStang and Plus One have achieved. The communications subteam is also working on a #teamREV product video to be posted at the end of the month.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
