WildStang Robotics Program is excited to announce the return of one of our most popular events. Miss Maker Workshop is a half-day event designed to introduce girls, ages 9 to 13, to Science, Engineering, and Math, through hands-on activities.

The girls will complete a Mechanical, Software, and Electrical project during the workshop. In the Mechanical session, the girls will be introduced to basic gear mechanics by designing and building their own automatas. In software, they will learn how to code using minecraft education and Code.org, interactive programs with puzzles and games to teach them coding in a fun way. In Electrical, the girls will learn about circuits with LEDs and copper tape while creating fun designs.

This year’s events will be held on October 18th and November 1st from 1:00 to 4:00pm at Forest View Education Center, 2121 S Goebbert Rd. Arlington Heights IL . Space will be limited to 30 girls each day. So complete your registration today. Spaces will fill up fast!!

WSRP 30th Anniversary Recognition

With the launch of the 2025 FIRST Robotics Competition season, REEFSCAPE℠, on January 4th, 2025, the WildStang Robotics Program (WSRP) will celebrate its 30th consecutive year as an FRC participant. This milestone reflects District 214’s long-standing dedication to WSRP, a program that blends technical education with teamwork and strategy, offering students a unique, challenging, and inspiring way to explore science and technology. Through their involvement, students are equipped for future careers in STEM while embracing the values of innovation, collaboration, and community engagement.

This season also marks the 30th anniversary of founding sponsor, the Motorola Solutions Foundation, whose support has been instrumental to WildStang’s success. Engineers from Motorola Solutions actively mentor WildStang students, guiding them through the process of designing, building, and programming robots for FRC competitions. These professionals bring invaluable real-world expertise to the team, offering students insight into industry practices and helping them develop key skills in electronics, mechanical engineering, software development, and systems integration.

To celebrate this partnership, District 214 will host a 30th Anniversary Celebration on Thursday, October 10th, honoring the contributions of the WildStang Robotics Program and the Motorola Solutions Foundation. The event will begin at 6:15 p.m. at the Forest View Educational Center in Rooms D100-101, with the D214 School Board recognizing Motorola Solutions Foundation’s support of WSRP at the start of the 7:00 p.m. School Board meeting.

All members of the D214 and WSRP community are invited to join this celebration of the 30 year partnership of D214, Motorola Solutions Foundation and WildStang Robotics Program.

2023 Miss Maker Workshop

Miss Maker Workshop is coming soon!

The girls will complete a Mechanical, Software, and Electrical project during the workshop. In the Mechanical session, the girls will design and build marshmallow catapults and see which design can launch the marshmallow the farthest. Then, they will test and iterate their catapult to see if they can improve on their previous design. In software, they will learn how to code using code academy, an interactive program with puzzles and games to teach them coding in a fun way. In Electrical, the girls will solder a breadboard with speakers that allow it to make music.

This year, we’ll be holding Miss Maker Workshops over two weekends – November 4th and November 11th. Both will be from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at MacArthur Middle School, 700 N. Schoenbeck Road, Prospect Heights. Space will be limited to 30 girls each day. So complete your registration today. Spaces will fill up fast!!

McAlister’s Deli is our Last Dine and Donate for the 2022-2023 season. It is scheduled for Thursday, May 18th from 4p-8p at 1109 N. Elmhurst Road, Randhurst Mall in Mount Prospect!

Mcalister’s Deli offers a wide variety of delicious options including deli sandwiches, soups, salads and sweet treats.

Order anything off the menu between 4 pm – 8 pm and the team receives a 20% donation of your total order.

When ordering in store, online or on the app for easy pickup: Don’t forget to mention the fundraiser to the cashier, show a flier or digital copy on your smartphone to ensure WildStang receives a portion of the proceeds.
