Rapid React Week 8 Recap

Week 8 Recap
As we get further into the season things are heating up. Team 111 is preparing for their first competition of the season, the Central Illinois Regional, in Peoria, IL. Both teams now have working robots! Week 8 brought great things, and we ended the week with a successful open house.

The mechanical subteams have been working hard to ensure that both robots are working and will be successful. 111 is troubleshooting any issues before CIR, and their drive team is practicing every chance they get to work toward peak performance. 112 has finished building their intake and continued to work on their climb mechanism. This week, with a completed robot, they are working on troubleshooting the issues they found during their demo at the open house, adding color sensors to see what color the cargo is, and practicing in preparation for the Midwest Regional.
The electrical subteams have been working together on the 112 robot. The electrical subteam is working to ensure their success while also working on their robots. 111’s electrical subteam will continue to make sure the robot has no issues while they plan where the sensors will go for the feed and make the swerve modules removable. This week, they are working to ensure that the robot doesn’t go haywire and installing the sensors.
The 111 software subteam has finished making the steps for autonomous mode to allow the robot to compete during the autonomous period of gameplay. This week they are going to complete the auto paths for the robot to follow. 112’s software subteam has finished programming the hood subsystem. This week, they will have the climb approved and finish making the software for the hood subsystem.
The combined strategy team watched and scouted the week zero matches last week. This week, they will scout the week one matches. They will work on the Lake Superior Regional, which had three Midwest teams, to gather relevant info for teams that we may be competing against and with.
The communications subteam has started preparing for CIR by making pit awards, buttons, and taking photos and videos for 112 and 111. We spent some time writing up info about some of our submitted awards, which you can find on the website. This week will bring more of the same with more new blog posts, including the blog post going into detail of the open house we hosted on Saturday, March 5th, and the week eight post.

As the weeks start to blur together, we can’t believe that we have already reached week nine. We have had an amazing nine weeks, and we are looking forward to our first competition in Peoria next week. We can’t wait to see all the other teams in Peoria and see what they’ve created!
