Open House 2022

Open House 2022
The 2022 WildStang Robotics Program (WSRP) open house was a massive success. We are so glad to be back as it is the first open house we have hosted since 2020. We had presentations from the teachers and WildStang Robotics Support Association (WRSA), sponsor appreciation, 111 and 112 team presentations, and robot debuts.

The open house began with recognizing and thanking our sponsors: WRSA, DevLinks, Slack, Nicholas & Associates, AMT, ATS, AvTech, GCamp, Advent Global Solutions, Automatic Precision, DMC, High School District 214, School District 23, and the Wong Family. We also thanked our mentors for their work for the WildStang Robotics Program.
After honoring our sponsors, the announcements of the FIRST submitted awards began. FIRST awards teams for many aspects of team and robot performance. These particular awards recognize the efforts of members of the team and require the submission of essays about our nominees. We officially announced our nomination of Jamie Beedy for Woodie Flowers (mentor of the year) and our nomination of Erin F. and Annalise G. for Dean’s List (student achievement award). We also announced the pit and drive team for 111 and our driver for 112, following their try-out process.
Finally, we revealed this year’s shirts! 111 is sticking with the classic rainbow and navy tie-dye, and 112 got a new all-blue tie-dye. While 112 is a newly reinstated team and has its own team identity, we wanted to show that they are separate yet part of the WSRP family!

Overall, this was a highly successful open house, and we’re glad the parents of the WSRP, our supporters, and our sponsors were able to get an inside look at what we’ve been up to for the school year. We are looking forward to competitions and credit our family members, WRSA, and sponsors with much of our past and future success!
