Rapid React Week 6 Recap

Week 6 Recap
Week six is done, and one robot is complete. 111 worked hard to get a working robot for a scrimmage in Oswego that was held last Saturday. 112 is on their way to having a complete robot. Both teams have been very successful these past six weeks, and are looking forward to seeing what their robots can do.

The mechanical subteam for 111 has completed the robot and was able to test the robot fully for the first time at the scrimmage. It was very stressful, as they were hoping the robot wouldn’t fall from the hanger, but it was a successful test! The robot works and can shoot cargo and climb! But, that’s not to say that it’s competition ready. Their mechanical team needs to fix the wheels on their robot and improve their intake so they can keep testing in order to make a competition-ready robot. 112 is on a similar pathway, as they have finished the CAD for their climber, mounted the shooter, and created the prototype for the intake. This week they are planning on finishing the feed construction, the climb rotator, mounting the intake, and starting to build the climb lift.
The electrical subteams have been working together to wire together parts for the 112 robot. While 111’s electrical subteam has been helping 112, this week they are going to make sure the robot stays moving and that there is no electrical failure. 112’s electrical subteam wired the batteries for the robot last week, and this week they will find a place in the belly pan of the robot for the pneumatic pump and begin wiring the tower of the robot.
The software subteams have been coding all week. 111’s software subteam made all the parts they need for auto and began making possible paths. Their goals for the upcoming week include having all the auto steps pulled and to begin testing them. 112’s subteam began to work on the climb subsystem, and they are planning to finish it and submit it for a pull request- which is a request for approval from the mentors.
The communications subteam finished the week five blog post which you can read on the website, filmed and took photos, and started to update mentor profiles on the website. This week’s goals for the communications subteam are to finish the week six blog post, complete the WildRank press release, film and take photos, and continue working on the mentor profiles.

Week six has seen some breakthrough moments in the WildStang Robotics Program. We hope that all other teams are doing just as well, and we’re gearing up for our first competition, the Central Illinois Regional in Peoria, which begins on March 16th!
