Mentor Profile – Jamie Beedy
As a former FLL coach, Jamie Beedy wanted to continue helping students through FIRST. He saw the impact that he had on his FLL teams and wanted to continue helping students the same way he had before. This is his third year as a mentor for the WildStang communications subteam. He is very happy that he gets to see his former students from FLL join WildStang and take on leadership roles within the team.
Some of his favorite memories are when Wildstang won the Fedex challenge in 2017 at the FIRST World Championship. He also fondly remembers the team building bumpers from scratch at the Rockford Offseason Competition. Outside of WildStang, Jamie owns his ow video post production company. He uses his knowledge and skills of editing to teach the communications sub-team to become better editors using Avid Media Composer, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects.
In his free time, he likes to spend time with his family, watching Netflix, listening to music, and tinkering with computers. Jamie has two sons, Josh and Sam, who have both been involved with the team. Josh graduated high school and is now a sophomore in college and Sam is a high school sophomore who is currently on the Wildstang software sub-team.
