WRSA Financial Update
The budget includes major expenses of mentor travel expenses, hospitality events, and new this year a WRSA scholarship. Income sources are the monthly Dine and Donate events, FUNDrive savers fundraiser, concession sales, sponsorships, grants, and student fees.
Student fees are $100 per student and are due by September 30. Payment can be made by personal check, payable to WRSA and can be sent with your student on Mondays; students should drop off payment in the workroom lockbox. Included in the fee are 2 team competition t-shirts and lunches at Midwest competition in March.
Our fundraising philosophy is NO SELLING, no added cost to your family. All of our fundraisers are based on no additional cost to your household, for instance Dine & Donates, (one night a month eat-out at the selected local restaurant), Amazon Smiles (the easiest way to shop and earn money!), and concession sales at FIRST events. We also offer direct donations through PayPal which are tax deductible if you’d rather give direct.
Your support in identifying new sponsorship and grant opportunities is greatly welcomed (and needed) to ensure WRSA can fund the necessary expenses to support the team. The long term goal is to reduce student travel fees by raising enough funds through alternate sources (and reduce or eliminate the amount that comes from your pockets). You can help by sharing our no cost fundraisers with family, friends, and co-workers.
Another no cost way to help is by checking with your employers for matching donation, grant and volunteering matching programs. Provide your employer info to a board member (email@example.com) and we’ll do the rest!
