CHARGED UP Week 7 Build Blog

Week 7 Recap

The WildStang Robotics Program had an electrifying Week 6 of the build season! We’ve had an extremely busy week; read more to see what the teams have been working on. Both teams are CHARGED UPᵀᴹ and ready for the Midwest Regional in 9 days.

WildStang’s software team has been working on debugging the robot and continues to make improvements to the code. The software team has planned the auto paths they want to code in the upcoming week. The team has been making significant progress and is almost done!

Plus One’s software team has been grinding away at some amazing things! They worked on planning auto paths, as well as tested more software for the robot. On top of that, Plus One software has reviewed past code, and are excited to show off the work they’ve been putting into the coding.

WildStang’s mechanical subteam has made the bumpers. The team is planning and preparing for the robot photo shoot this week; the photo shoot showcases our robot’s one-of-a-kind design to our sponsors, families, and district supporters.

Plus One’s mechanical subteam has designed the Limelight mount and has begun work to implement it in our gameplay. The drive team has been selected and driver and operator practice has started. The 112 mechanical team plans to make significant improvements in the upcoming week.

WildStang’s electrical subteam is CHARGED UP and ready to go for the competition! They have put the Anderson connectors into the battery chargers and worked on the robot repairs that were needed. They plan for this week to keep up the work with any repairs that may arise during scrimmaging.

Plus One’s electrical subteam has been diligently working on the robot components in preparation for Midwest! They have begun wiring the Limelight vision system onto the robot, and are planning to finish the Limelight in the next week. They had some issues with the camera, but have tackled the issue and are troubleshooting it.

WildStang’s and Plus One’s joint communications team worked on the week 6 blog post. The team has also been working on the outline for the Impact presentation; the Impact presentation will be judged at the Midwest Regional competition. They have buttons designed to be made in the upcoming week.

Strategy has been hard at work with preparing for all the scouting that will happen at the Midwest Regional. They watched week 0 matches and also worked on practice scouting for those who have not scouted before on the subteam. During week 7, strategy was prepping the training that they are giving to WildStang and Plus One. They also made sure that the scoring configuration is easy to use and accessible for anyone who is interested in scouting during the competition. For the upcoming week, they are going to be watching week 1 matches and scouting those and will be training members for the Midwest Regional competition.

Both teams are scheduled to have completed and efficient robots. Keep up with the WildStang Robotics Program through our social media.
