WildStang Demo at PACK Expo

WildStang was invited and participated in the International PACK Expo on October 18th, 2018, in Chicago, IL. It is the world’s largest packaging event highlighting the way autonomous robots are used in the packaging industry. Companies such as Amazon, Coca-Cola, Starbucks, and Johnson & Johnson were all represented at the event. Communications sub-team member Andrew’s favorite company to talk with was IGUS. He said, “It was very interesting. They had multiple cool demonstrations of their products.”

WildStang participated in the Future Innovators Robotics Showcase, demonstrating our 2018 Power Up robot to event attendees. Wildstang students were able to talk with industry professionals to learn about how their experiences in FIRST can be applied towards future careers. WildStang shared with attendees and exhibitors how FRC teams design, build,  and program the robot for competitions along with Team 5976, CyberSaders.

WildStang students had a great time. Mechanical sub-team member Ben’s favorite part of the expo was touring the convention floor and visiting all the cool booths and vendors.

WildStang students who participated in the 2018 PACK Expo had an amazing time sharing FIRST with others. As sub-team member Elise urges, “Go! It’s so cool and you should come to see it. There were a lot of unique processes and ways to maximize production efficiency, there were a lot of different things being packed so you get to see how different things get packed and distributed.”

Thank you PACK for the invite and hope to see you next year!
