2022 Woodie Flowers Award Nomination

2022 Woodie Flowers Award Nomination

Of the many awards WildStang Robotics Program applies for, the Woodie Flowers Award is one of the most important and meaningful. This award focuses on a mentor or teacher within the program. The spirit of the award is to recognize a mentor for motivating and encouraging students to use clear communication throughout their mentoring years. The unique thing about this award is that the Woodie Flowers Award is student-led and written, which is very important for the spirit.

This Woodie Flowers Award nominee has been nominated twice, which is uncommon. This situation shows how influential they are to the team. Students voted on their choice for the award, and for the 2022 season, students nominated Jamie Beedy. Part of the award is about communication; that is Jamie’s specialty. He is one of the mentors for the communications subteam, teaching students about video and photo skills as well as web design and social media. Outside of being a mentor on the communications subteam, he is one of the coaches for the team. This double-duty means as along with being a mentor, he also works on the administrative side of the team. He has impacted so many members of the WildStang Robotics Program, which is what WFA is all about.

As the Woodie Flowers Award is so important to our team, we are proud to announce that Jamie Beedy is our nominee for the 2022 Rapid React Season. Thank you so much for your dedication, Jamie!
