On October 23rd, Wildstang attended the 2018 ASSEMBLY Show. To quote their website, “The ASSEMBLY Show is focused exclusively on assembly technology equipment and products. Uncover new resources, experience equipment hands-on, evaluate the latest technologies and products and connect face-to-face with industry experts.” Five students and two mentors attended what is usually a show open only to adults in the trade.
Chris, a mechanical subteam member, speaks of the event excitedly, describing how “WildStang got interviewed by the district media program about what FIRST was and what we do. I really did enjoy driving the robot and telling people about what the robot does.” He also enjoyed working with FRC Team 2451, PWNAGE, and interacting with their robot more on a small scale.
Chris, along with other team members, were also able to talk with professionals from Bosch-Rexroth, Fanuk, and Weber.
WildStang learned a lot about what the ASSEMBLY show is and about assembly technology.
As Josiah describes the ASSEMBLY show, “It is a manufacturing trade conference specifically focused on assembling products automatedly. WildStang attended because we were invited by PWNAGE and because it is a good way to get our name out there.” WildStang had an enjoyable and engaging time working with PWNAGE, exhibiting our robot, and informing attendees about FIRST.
