On November 14th, 2018, 43 WildStang students and 32 mentors, family members, and friends volunteered their time to pack meals at Feed My Starving Children, an organization that provides healthy foods for malnourished children in third-world countries. In total, 46,872 meals were packed, enough to feed 128 children for a year! Everyone there worked very well together and packed efficiently, in total packing more than $10,000 worth of food.
Volunteering at Feed My Starving Children also proved to be a valuable exercise in teamwork. Groups of 5-10 volunteers “hand-packed rice, soy, dried vegetables and a nutritionally complete blend of vitamins and minerals into bags which are then sealed, boxed, placed on pallets and shipped.” The students had to be organized in the packing process, working together to pack all of the meals possible in our limited time. Great job to everyone who participated and thanks for making that a night to remember!
Wildstang would like to extend our sincere thanks to all who donated to this wonderful cause and to Feed My Starving Children itself for providing such a simple and effective way to extend a helping hand. When you next consider volunteering, WildStang urges you to contribute your time to Feed My Starving Children!
