Build Season Wrap Up
The past two weeks have been busy for the team. The week of 1-21 WildStang did not meet on Monday due to Martin Luther King Jr. Day and did not meet on Tuesday due to the extreme cold and unsafe conditions.
On the days that the team did meet, the Software Sub-Team worked on programming the robot and teaching new students how to program. They worked on a carriage motor which adjusts the height of the robot’s arm so that the robot can place cargo into the rocket ship. On Friday, 1-25, WildStang began running the programming on the practice robot.
The Electrical Sub-Team was fixing anything that broke during the week and supporting the drive team. The team also started working on the layout of the electrical and pneumatic systems in this years robot.
The Mechanical Sub-Team finished working on the lift prototype and the climbing mechanism. They also began cutting out drive tubes on our new CNC Router. The sub-team also finished ball and hatch manipulators in CAD and began designing bumpers for this year.
The communication sub-team has been getting videos of all other sub-teams working and finalizing pit awards for this season. Overall, this week was slower than normal due to the days missed, but it was still productive and the team keeps improving.
